Michael Stern | GIA Graduate Gemologist and Registered Master Valuer
Michael brings more than 40 years of experience to American Asset Buyers. He is an expert gemologist, and graduate of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), and a Registered Master Valuer (#181099).
Michael has been operating Canadian Asset Buyers & Fine Jewellers, in Toronto, Canada, since 2011 and has been the President of Gems Appraisals, also in Toronto, since 1983. This gives him extensive experience servicing the general public and the jewelry trade.
Michael expanded to Florida in response to many requests and in keeping with his love of the area. When he is not gazing through the lenses of his microscope, examining jewelry, Michael devotes himself to his family and to his hobbies of sailing and golf.
Appraisals
Our President, Michael Stern, is a Registered Appraiser certified by the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers, a GIA Graduate Gemologist with the Gemological Institute of America (#8131120), a Registered Master Valuer (#181099) and an Accredited Appraiser Professional (AAP).
We offer the following appraisal services:
- Gemological Consultation – verbal information regarding what you have and it’s approximate value;
- Insurance Appraisal – written documents for insuring your jewellery;
- Estate Appraisal – written documents for valuing estates and inheritances;
- Fair Market Appraisal – written documents for divorce/separation, selling, barter, bankruptcy, etc.;
- Liquidation Value – written documents for using items as collateral;
- Customs & Travel – written documents for travel purposes;
- Gem Identification, Grading, & Damage Reports – written documents providing detailed and specific gemological information;
- Gem & Jewellery Photography – digital photos to provide a photographic record;
- Gemological Lab Reports – written documents from an independent lab such as the GIA;
- Damage Reports – Our written documents help your insurer settle your claim related to chipped diamonds, scratched gems, etc.; and
